City of Toledo teams up with Point Place to kick off T-Town

The City of Toledo along with the Point Place Business Association and other community organizations are hosting the kick off of Point Place T-Town. T-Town is a concept Mayor Collins has taken from a program in Ireland called Tidy Town. It is a program to promote friendly, safe, clean and beautiful communities. Point Place has been chosen to be one of the neighborhood communities to initiate this concept.

On Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 am to noon, please join your neighbors in a Point Place/Shoreland Community clean-up. We will be meeting at the Friendship Park Community Center (2930 131st Street). Gloves, bags and vests will be provided, as well as dumpsters for recyclables and garbage.

Also on Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 am to noon, the City of Toledo’s Department of Public Service will have dumpsters for recyclables and garbage at the Friendship Park Community Center. They will be accepting yard waste, furniture, electronics, etc. The Division of Environmental Services is also hosting a “pitch your paint” party at the Point Place May 17th clean-up event, so lead based and latex paints will be accepted for disposal. Tires will NOT be accepted for disposal. More information on PPBA Facebook  page and in the May 12 issue of the Point & Shoreland Journal.
