Monthly meeting Wednesday, March 19

This month’s meeting is at Toledo Yacht Club, located at 3900 N Summit St. We thank TYC for hosting our meeting this month!

We will be having a Jiggs Dinner, and Kelly’s Catering will be providing our food. The cost of the meal is free for members, and $10 for guests.

Our meeting begins at 6:00 pm with dinner served at 6:30.

Our speaker this month will be Bryan Ellis from Glass City Engineering & Surveying, and he will be talking about FEMA and flood insurance.

It’s Time for Trick or Treat in the Point!

Thursday, October 31st from 10 am to 2 pm

If you would like to hand out treats to preschoolers at your business, download the flyer at the link below or pick one up at Curves or Rite Aid on Summit Street. Display it in your window on Halloween so everyone knows that you are passing out treats. There is no cost to participate. For more information call Nancy Anderson @ Rite Aid – 419 727 3104 ext 5.

BR&E Report

Business Retention and Expansion Report for Point Place

The Point Place BR&E Task Force, along with Joe Lucente of the Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio Sea Grant College Program, is pleased to release the Final Report of the Point Place BR&E Program for 2013. This has been a collaborative effort, and is based on surveys and analysis of the survey results.

The PPBA thanks Joe Lucente, Len Syrek, Bob Pulhuj, Bob Kneisley, Eric Damask, Dale Rupert, Paul Pacholski, and all the others who spent countless hours compiling and analyzing the information about Point Place businesses.

Monthly Meeting Wednesday, April 17

This month’s general meeting of the PPBA will be at Toledo Yacht Club (3900 N. Summit Street). This will be a special meeting where the Scholarship Foundation will award college scholarships to several deserving high school seniors from Point Place.

Kelly’s Catering will be providing the meal. Cost is free for PPBA members, and $10 for guests. Let us know you’re coming by sending an email to ppbaonline@gmail.com. The meeting begins at 6:00 pm.

Scholarships for High School Seniors

For over 30 years the PPBA has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school seniors from the Point Place area. The Foundation was formed to raise money and accept donations for this purpose. A Golf Scramble held in September each year is the main fundraiser for the foundation.

The PPBA Scholarship Foundation does not discriminate regarding race, religion or gender. Members of PPBA and their immediate families are not eligible for the scholarships. Students attending any high school or that are home schooled are eligible. Only residents residing in zip code 43611 will be considered.

Application deadline: March 2, 2013
